Our Mission

The mission of the Laveist heirs is to provide a unique, high end, relaxing outdoor space for residents & tourists to enjoy a piece of beauty in Orange Grove, St. Maarten while ensuring that the residents on the island seeking to establish themselves in their businesses are afforded an opportunity to flourish in their craft without the responsibilities of a traditional brick and mortar retail space.

Our Purpose

The Blue Mélange serves as a ‘business incubator’ ~ a place where new business owners residing in St. Maarten can realize their vision in retail by renting an incubator within the Blue Mélange while receiving the benefits of services such as advertising and management support. There will be an opportunity for up to 18 St. Maarten residents to rent a Blue Mélange incubator for less than the cost of a retail brick and mortar while maintaining a classy, upscale ambiance.

Our Vision

To build a place where individuals and families can create memories while simultaneously playing a key role in helping to grow the number of successful entrepreneurs throughout the island of St. Maarten.

Our History

Transporting us to the era of the 1800s, we uncover the inspiring story of Anthony Laveist and Maria Arrindell, who valiantly navigated the challenges of enslavement while raising their cherished six children. Anthony's sharp mind and intellect guided him to a notable role as the bookkeeper for his enslaver, while his devoted brother Peter played a crucial part in the sale of crops within the now-famed Diamond Hill Cole Bay/Simpson Bay region. Their resilience and determination paint a poignant picture of triumph over adversity, leaving an indelible mark on history.--

Within a span of just 24 hours, he acquired one Lot in the morning and swiftly secured the adjoining Lot in the afternoon. Inheriting the indomitable spirit and resilience of his father, Robert carried forward their legacy of land acquisition in Cole Bay Hills, Orange Grove. Today, standing proudly on that very land, is 'The Blue Mélange,' a testament to the enduring legacy of the Laveist family.
